Here at Forest we recognise that the people who work for us are fundamental in enabling us to provide an exceptional learning experience for every pupil we teach. To provide an outstanding education, we need outstanding teachers and support staff. If you would like to be part of a school that is always looking for improvement, that never stands still, that utilises every innovation to improve the learning environment, we would love to hear from you.

We currently have 1 position available at Forest.

Voice Teacher

We are advertising for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to teach Voice Lessons on Fridays in term time to pupils in Years 2-6, commencing in September this year.  The position would be a freelance one, with the teacher required to invoice their pupils and manage their own register.  At the moment, we have five voice pupils already registered for September, but we would expect that the position would commence with 7-8 pupils, perhaps even more.  There is definitely the opportunity to grow to a full day (or more) of teaching over time.

We are looking particularly for someone to teach proper vocal technique from the very beginning with pupils working, as appropriate, towards ABRSM (or similar) Voice Exams and entering festivals such as Heaton Mersey and Alderley Edge.  We have a long and proud history of our pupils being selected for the Hallé Children's Choir, with a previous pupil also moving to Chetham's School of Music as a Cathedral Chorister.

Our school - Forest Preparatory School is a co-educational school located in Timperley, with a register of just over 200 pupils from Nursery to Year 6, offering peripatetic lessons in piano, voice, violin, trumpet, drums and guitar.  We have four Choirs, a String Ensemble and Brass Ensemble, as well as  a large number of pupils involved in Musical Theatre through LAMDA.  Our Lower School (Reception-Year 2) perform a Nativity production each year with the Upper School (Years 3-6) involved in a large-scale Summer Show.

Please send a covering email and CV to Director of Music, Susan Wellings - swellings@forestschool.co.uk

Year 6 pupil

I am continuously impressed with my son’s academic and social development. The progress he's made in a short space of time is impressive and a credit to the quality and consistency of teaching and pastoral care.

Current Parent

It is hard to imagine walking in to the grounds of a more vibrant and happy school. Even before meeting any of the staff or children, there is a warmth to the atmosphere that exudes contentment, safety and success.

Current Parent

Forest Preparatory School is warm and welcoming and a great place to work. Every teacher knows every child by name and the sense of community is felt very strongly by the children, teachers and parents alike.
