Hi there and welcome to the Forest Preparatory School Parents Association (the PA).
The PA is run entirely by parents and grandparents of the school and our aim is to provide some of the ‘extras’ for our children. Examples include:
The PA also raises money for particular requests from the school, such as the garden music room, classroom equipment and props for the school productions to name just a few.
In addition to raising money for the school, we believe it is really important to raise money and awareness for partner charities. We have created long lasting relationships with the charities that we have donated to over the years and very much like to get the children and parents involved in the fund raising, be that through ticket sales from various events throughout the year, charity auctions and our annual Colour Run.
We are looking forward to making an exciting announcement about our new partner charity at the beginning of next term.
Finally, as parents we appreciate how important the social aspect of the PA can be. Our School has a unique family feel and we aim to reflect this through the PA. Social events are many and varied and below is the schedule of events for the first term, along with key dates for next year, so that you have them in your diary:
Monday 5th - First Day of term. Parents coffee morning 9am - 10am on the front lawn of the school.
Thursday 14th – PA evening get together, 8pm, The Moss Trooper. A chance for the PA to catch up after the summer holidays, and to welcome our new members.
Friday 13th – Halloween Disco
Friday 24th – School Discos from 5pm
Wednesday 29th - Parents Wreath Making evening from 7pm
Friday 1st – School Christmas Fair 2023
Thursday 14th - School Jumper Day
Friday 19th January- Parents Quiz Night
Saturday 11th May – THE MAY BALL at the Bowdon Rugby Club. Our key event of the year. Please save the date in your diary now.
Each class has PA representatives (please see list below) and we aim to keep everyone updated regularly via PA Committee meetings.
The PA is an integral part of the school’s life and supported by both staff and parents. New committee members are always very welcome - the more people who contribute their time and talents, the stronger and more connected the school community grows. Whether it’s a regular helper at school events, a one-time commitment or a signature event we have the perfect job for you. Please reach out to us if you would like to join us – we truly want our PA to reflect #theforestway.
