Buzz Club

This new club is taught by our peripatetic Brass teacher, Mr Hutchinson, and takes place before school in the morning (see Extra Curricular Form for days and dates).

Buzz Club gives children the chance to learn and make music in a fun environment, while also learning about the fundamentals of brass instrument playing.

The pBuzz is an inexpensive way to try out a brass instrument and is slightly easier in the early stages to make a good sound. We use fun backing tracks and accompaniments to make music as a group and it is a great start to the day, waking everyone up!

It is open to any children in Years 2-6. The pBuzz itself costs £14.99.  If your child wishes to take part in the club, the instrument can be purchased from Amazon via the following link:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01H3E0YM4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4kekDbTTVF467 Mr Hutchinson has advised that all the online stores are also selling the pBuzz at the same price if anyone prefers not to use Amazon.

Please wait for confirmation that your child has a place in the club before purchasing a pBuzz.

Just B Yoga Club

Mrs Thomson will be leading a new Yoga Club for children from Years 1 to Year 6 from September. The club will be split into two sessions, one for Years 1 and 2 and one for Years 3 to 6 (see the Extra Curricular Form for days and dates).

The practice of yoga is an ancient science but is even more relevant in this day and age. Children receive a wealth of benefits from being introduced to yoga; developing, strength, flexibility, coordination and awareness in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. Yoga also helps children to become more mindful, happy and able to deal more effectively with the stresses of the busy society we live in today. Having been a primary school teacher for 22 years, I have developed a passion for supporting children’s physical and emotional well-being. I am a great believer in the benefits of yoga so this year qualified as a children’s yoga teacher.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information. Places are limited for each session, but please use the Extra Curricular Clubs form to reserve your child’s place.

Parents will be invoiced directly by school for payment of this club. Child Care Vouchers may be used for payment and all payments must be made before sthe club begins in September.

The examinations help children of all ages and aspirations to:

  • Unlock the imagination and creative-thinking
  • Develop communication skills
  • Build self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Receive critical appraisal and guidance for future development
