Impressive Results in Cross Country Nationals

Impressive Results in Cross Country Nationals

Back in February, three of our Forest cross country runners qualified in the top 10 at The North’s regional qualifying event. This enabled them to be entered into the National Finals, down in Rugby, not only representing their school but now their whole region. The event was very well attended, with 100’s of boys and girls from across the country running to represent their region.

TP, IH and LT prepared well: assessing the challenging course beforehand and acclimatising themselves to running in the warm conditions they were faced with.

LT ran in the Year 3 and 4  age group, running a 1500m course, starting well and running a strong race in a very competitive field.

TP and IH ran in the Year 5 and 6 category, both pushing themselves against very experienced competitors. The 1800m course was a real test for all the runners and both our girls ran very impressive races, finishing very strongly: TP 7th within The North team and IH 9th Nationally.

Throughout the day, all three conducted themselves in a mature and sporting manner, pushing themselves until the very end. It was a privilege to attend the event with their families and on behalf of the school. Well done to all three girls, you did us all very proud and congratulations on your achievements.
