World Book Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) reading. In fact, it's the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
All year groups at Forest have had a busy and rewarding time participating in an exciting programme of activities to celebrate World Book Week.
The children, who have all clearly made a great deal of effort, look tremendous in their costumes today! Teachers have been introduced to new book characters, as well as nostalgically reliving some old classics.
We were even privileged enough to have Roald Dahl (in the form of Sam from Y5) visit us briefly, to discuss the meaning behind some of his books.
